Israeli Airstrikes Result in the Death of 24 Palestinians in Gaza: Reports

Gaza, Dec 19 (NationPress) A minimum of 24 Palestinians have lost their lives due to Israeli airstrikes throughout the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian reports.

Israeli warplanes targeted a residence in Beit Hanoun, located in northern Gaza, on Wednesday, as reported by Palestinian security sources.

Mahmoud Basal, the spokesman for Civil Defence in Gaza, informed Xinhua that four individuals died in the attack, including two women, with several others still unaccounted for beneath the debris.

In another incident in northern Gaza, two additional individuals were killed and one was severely injured when an Israeli drone struck a gathering of Palestinians in the Jabalia area, per Basal's account.

Furthermore, a brief announcement from Al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza indicated that a paramedic was killed during an Israeli airstrike on a structure in Beit Lahia at dawn, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

The statement also mentioned that the Israeli army exploded a 'robot' near the hospital, resulting in injuries to medical personnel and patients, although exact numbers and conditions were not disclosed.

Meanwhile, Kamal Adwan Hospital reported in the morning that at least 10 individuals lost their lives and several others sustained injuries due to Israeli shelling on a residential building in Beit Lahia.

The intensive care unit of the hospital also caught fire due to gunfire from Israeli forces, the statement noted.

In central Gaza, medical and civil defence teams retrieved the bodies of four individuals who perished in Israeli airstrikes at dawn; one was in a tent sheltering displaced people in Deir al-Balah city, while another was near 'Ard al-Mufti' park north of al-Nuseirat refugee camp, as stated by Basal.

In Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza, three Palestinians, including two women, were killed due to Israeli shelling on a dwelling east of the city, according to reports from the Nasser medical compound after the arrival of the victims' bodies.

The Israeli army has yet to comment on these occurrences.

Israel has been conducting a large-scale offensive against Hamas in Gaza as a response to a Hamas attack on the southern Israeli border on October 7, 2023, during which approximately 1,200 people were killed and around 250 taken hostage.

The death toll of Palestinians from ongoing Israeli assaults in the Gaza Strip has escalated to 45,097, according to statements from Gaza-based health authorities on Wednesday.
