Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana's Vice President, Acknowledges Loss in Presidential Election

Accra, Dec 8 (NationPress) Ghana's Vice President and candidate from the ruling party, Mahamudu Bawumia, officially accepted his loss on Sunday in the 2024 presidential election.

In a concise televised statement from his official residence, Bawumia, who is the leader of the ruling New Patriotic Party, recognized the electoral outcomes, conveyed his appreciation to the Ghanaian populace for their backing, and offered his congratulations to the former President John Dramani Mahama for his success in the presidential contest, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

On Saturday, Ghanaians participated in voting to select a new president along with 276 parliamentarians.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has not yet released the official final results.
