Washington, March 6 (NationPress) - President Donald Trump stated that Iran is actively pursuing negotiations following significant military setbacks, as American and Israeli forces intensify their strikes aimed at crippling Tehran’s missile and drone capabilities.
During an event at the White House celebrating the 2025 MLS champions, Inter Miami CF, Trump remarked that the United States, alongside its allies, is effectively diminishing Iran’s military strength and claimed that Tehran is already initiating discussions.
“They're contacting us, asking, 'How can we reach an agreement?'” Trump mentioned. “I told them that they are a bit late to the conversation.”
The President asserted that the joint military efforts are advancing more swiftly than anticipated, inflicting considerable damage on Iranian forces.
“The US military, in collaboration with our exceptional Israeli allies, is systematically annihilating the adversary far ahead of schedule,” Trump declared.
He noted that Iranian missile launch systems are being obliterated within minutes of their activation.
“As soon as they launch a missile, within four minutes, the launcher is targeted,” Trump stated.
Additionally, Trump asserted that Iran's naval capabilities have been drastically diminished during the ongoing operations.
“Their navy has been decimated, losing 24 ships in just three days,” he said.
According to Trump, US forces have dismantled significant portions of Iran’s air defense and aviation capabilities.
“Their anti-aircraft systems are gone, leaving them without an air force or air defense,” he added.
The President estimated that around 60% of Iran’s missile systems and 64% of its launch infrastructure have already been destroyed.
Despite the ongoing military pressure, Trump indicated that Washington is willing to consider a different future for Iran if factions within the country’s security apparatus distance themselves from the current leadership.
“I'm once again urging all members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the military, and the police to surrender their weapons,” he said.
Trump also called on Iranian diplomats abroad to defect and support political change within Iran.
“We also encourage Iranian diplomats worldwide to seek asylum and aid us in shaping a new and improved Iran,” he stated.
The President assured that those who collaborate would be granted immunity.
“You will be completely safe with full immunity, or you will face certain death,” he warned.
Trump posited that the military operation will ultimately contribute to stabilizing the region and global energy markets.
“In the long run, our actions will significantly enhance regional stability, impacting oil prices, stock markets, and more,” he said.
This statement comes as the United States and Israel escalate their military actions against Iran, which they accuse of supporting terrorist organizations and attempting to develop nuclear weaponry. The conflict has heightened concerns across the Middle East and global energy markets, particularly due to the region’s vital oil shipping routes.
