Patna, May 26 (NationPress) JD-U State General Secretary Saket Singh has accused RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav of "deceiving people under the pretense of socialism" and has raised questions regarding the legitimacy of the party's recent decisions and political slogans.
These comments arise amid the escalating controversy surrounding Tej Pratap Yadav's expulsion and the ongoing disputes between RJD and opposition figures.
In a sharp statement, Singh claimed that Lalu Prasad Yadav is misleading the residents of Bihar while masquerading as a socialist.
He emphasized that while personal criticisms are typically avoided, this situation has transcended personal matters and entered the social and political realm, especially given Lalu's position as a former Chief Minister and public figure.
"This is not merely a personal issue. He has served as a minister and an MLA, and comes from a prominent political lineage. His actions have societal implications," Singh remarked.
Singh also targeted the RJD's "Mai Behan Maan Yojana," questioning its authenticity and labeling it as nothing more than an electoral ploy.
"They are parading around Patna with banners for the 'Mai Behan Maan Yojana.' This is nothing but an election slogan," he stated.
He drew connections to Aishwarya Rai, the estranged wife of Tej Pratap Yadav, noting her political background as the granddaughter of former Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai, and asked when justice would be served to her family.
Furthermore, Saket Singh expressed skepticism regarding Tej Pratap Yadav's expulsion from RJD and questioned the procedural integrity of that decision.
"They assert that he has been expelled from the party for six years. Where is the evidence? Has the Speaker received any correspondence requesting the cancellation of his membership?" he queried.
Singh also mentioned Sadhu Yadav, Lalu's estranged brother-in-law, who has previously criticized RJD's leadership.
"Even Sadhu Yadav remarked that Lalu Prasad himself has undermined his family's reputation. These are not my assertions—they originate from within his own family," he concluded.
