Paris, Feb 11 (NationPress) Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now crafting the codes of humanity in this century, and its remarkable potential to transform millions of lives is truly astonishing, stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

While addressing a packed audience at the two-day 'AI Action Summit' alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and other international leaders, PM Modi emphasized the necessity of democratizing technology, highlighting that AI can significantly contribute to achieving this objective.

"AI is currently redefining our political landscape, economy, security, and even our society. AI is drafting the code for humanity in this century," expressed the Prime Minister.

He further noted that AI is evolving at an unprecedented rate, being adopted and implemented more swiftly than ever globally, including in India.

"Effective governance also involves ensuring equitable access for all, particularly in the Global South. This is where AI can be a game-changer, enhancing health, education, agriculture, and more," PM Modi remarked, underlining the importance of collective global efforts to establish governance frameworks and standards.

India and France have collaborated for years through initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance (ISA).

"As we progress our partnership in AI, it marks a natural evolution from sustainability to innovation, paving the way for a smarter and more responsible future. AI models must also be sustainable in terms of size, data requirements, and resource utilization," highlighted the Prime Minister.

Praising India's digital public infrastructure (DPI), which is designed around an open and accessible network, PM Modi noted it provides a wide array of applications to modernize our economy, reform governance, and improve the lives of our citizens.

The AI Action Summit has convened global leaders and top tech executives to deliberate on the future of AI, placing a strong focus on innovation and ethical development.

Upon arriving in Paris on Monday, PM Modi landed at Orly Airport before proceeding to the Elysee Palace for a dinner hosted by President Macron, which was attended by various dignitaries, including US Vice President JD Vance.

During their discussions at the dinner, PM Modi congratulated Vance on his success in the US Presidential elections.

In addition to the AI Summit, PM Modi's visit will involve crucial bilateral talks with President Macron. The two leaders will engage at the India-France CEOs Forum and hold discussions in both restricted and delegation settings, focusing on economic collaboration, technology partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
