Patna, Oct 19 (NationPress) As the political heat intensifies ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) unveiled a roster of 25 candidates on Sunday. What stands out to both voters and political analysts is the party's inclusion of two Hindu candidates.
The AIMIM shared its candidate list via its social media platform, X, committing to represent the "most marginalized and overlooked sections" of the state.
Having experienced notable success in the Seemanchal region during the previous elections, largely relying on the Muslim electorate, the party has this time decided to field two Hindus.
According to the published list, AIMIM's state president Akhtarul Iman will contest from Amour, while the two Hindu candidates, Rana Ranjit Singh and Manoj Kumar Das, will be running from Dhaka and Sikandra seats respectively.
Other nominated candidates include Adil Hasan from Balrampur, Shamimul Haq from Narkatia, and Anas Salam from Gopalganj.
The party has also put forth Murshid Alam from Jokihat, Tausif Alam from Bahadurganj, Ghulam Hasnain from Thakurganj, Advocate Shams Aagaz from Kishanganj, Ghulam Sarwar from Baisi, Shan-e-Ali Khan from Sherghati, Mohammad Ismail from Nathnagar, Mohammad Kaifi from Siwan, Anisur Rahman from Keoti, Faisal Rahman from Jale, Manoj Kumar Das from Sikandra, and Dr. Munazir Hasan from Munger.
Additionally, candidates Naseema Khatoon from Nawada, Rashid Khalil Ansari from Madhubani, Mohammad Jalal from Darbhanga Rural, Akhtar Shahanshah from Gaurabauram, Shahnawaz Alam from Kasba, Mohammad Manzoor Alam from Araria, Mohammad Matiur Rahman Shershahabadi from Barari, and Sarwar Alam from Kochadhaman have also been nominated.
