Key Takeaways
Amaravati, March 10 (NationPress) The state of Andhra Pradesh is currently experiencing no shortage of LPG, and citizens need not be alarmed, declared the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Nadendla Manohar, on Tuesday.
In his statement, he emphasized that there are adequate gas reserves available to fulfill both household and commercial demands, confirming that there are currently no issues.
He instructed that district-level measures be implemented to curtail any illegal diversion of LPG to the black market during this critical time, urging the Joint Collectors of the respective districts to maintain heightened vigilance.
Given the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Manohar conducted a teleconference with senior officials to review the state’s gas supply situation.
He inquired about the existing gas reserves and assured, "We are taking proactive measures to ensure that there are no disruptions in the gas supply for household usage. If required, we will prioritize the allocation of LPG for commercial purposes. Currently, we are consistently overseeing the gas supply from various sources including HPC Visakhapatnam Refinery, the Hassan Cherlapalli pipeline from Mangalore, and HPC, BPC, and IOC in Visakhapatnam,” he stated.
The minister added that in the event of any shortfall in daily requirements, the government is prepared to implement alternative solutions.
“We will ensure that the residents of the state face no hardships. The official machinery must remain fully alert regarding this matter,” he emphasized.
He called on officials to ensure rigorous monitoring and supervision to prevent citizens from resorting to the black market.
He cautioned that strict measures would be enforced against those spreading rumors or arbitrarily increasing prices.
"We need to systematically monitor the supply chain on a district basis and arrange for the immediate rectification of any supply deficiencies. Senior officials from the state office should also focus on the gas supply situation. Citizens should not be swayed by misleading information circulating on social media,” he stated.
Manohar affirmed that the ongoing conflict has not impacted the gas supply scenario in the state and mentioned that the Central government is also keeping a watchful eye on the situation.
