General Upendra Dwivedi stated, "Technological capability has emerged as the new measure of deterrence, while data has transformed into the new currency of trade and security."
He remarked, "Security entails a comprehensive capability for both waging and deterring war. A robust military-civil fusion, a self-reliant defence industrial base, dual-use assets at the national level, informed and empowered decision-makers, and an inclusive approach for citizen warriors are crucial elements."
He added, "Anti-colonial coalitions advocate for a multi-polar world, and the collaboration of nations is essential to mitigate conflicts."
The Army Chief further stated, "We must lead peacekeeping missions, promote the use of nuclear weapons solely as a deterrent for as long as feasible, and spearhead the Global War on Terrorism due to our firsthand experiences in Jammu and Kashmir, the Northeast, and in combating left-wing extremism. I assure you that the Indian Army remains aligned and integrated with the nation."
On the same day, General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), along with all ranks of the Indian armed forces, paid homage to India's inaugural Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat.
