Guwahati, Jan 28 (NationPress) Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya expressed his satisfaction during a university convocation regarding the substantial number of degrees awarded to female scholars.
Acharya was present at the 2nd convocation of Rabindranath Tagore University in Hojai, as per officials.
He conveyed his joy that the majority of degrees were conferred to women, noting that two out of three gold medalists were female.
The Governor highlighted the critical need for equal opportunities for women and their involvement in research and development to foster the region's social and economic growth.
During his address, Acharya congratulated graduates, underlining the importance of diligence and commitment in achieving academic excellence.
