Sarma shared on X, "Assam is positioning itself as a global hub of semiconductors, and an electronic city is being developed in Jagiroad to propel this ambitious vision forward."

He also discussed his recent discussions with leading semiconductor industry players in Japan.

"To advance our Semiconductor vision, we engaged with top representatives from semiconductor companies including Micron Memory, Ueno Seiki, Tanaka, Tokyo Electron, Renesas Electronics, and Enomoto Co during my visit to Japan," he stated.

He emphasized that these six companies are global leaders in the semiconductor sector and that the delegation had productive interactions with them.

"We eagerly anticipate collaborating with them at the upcoming #AdvantageAssam2 Summit in February," he added.

A significant investor summit, Advantage Assam, is scheduled to take place in Guwahati this February, which Sarma noted is aimed at attracting further investments to the state.

He highlighted that the summit will provide more government jobs and entrepreneurship support for the residents of Assam.

Set for February 25 and 26, the event will also feature a showcase of the traditional Jhumur dance from the tea tribe clans.

"This summit serves as a platform to exhibit Assam's rich traditions to an international audience while drawing in potential investors," he explained.

A magnificent Jhumur dance performance involving over 7,500 dancers and artists will be a highlight of the event, according to the Chief Minister.

He assured that flawless execution will be achieved through master training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district-level performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.

The objective of ‘Advantage Assam’, the second installment of the international investor summit since its inception in 2018, is to enhance infrastructure development and investment in the state.
