Guwahati, May 4 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday graciously welcomed and hosted Nukaga Fukushiro, the Speaker of the House of Representatives from Japan, along with his delegation at the Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Facility in Jagiroad, where they engaged in fruitful discussions, according to officials.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Japan has been a prominent global leader in semiconductor technology, and its participation in Assam's sector is anticipated to significantly enhance the region's technological capabilities and spur economic development. This collaboration is poised to provide a substantial advantage to the state's semiconductor aspirations, augmenting tech capabilities, fortifying the supply chain, and propelling economic advancement.
It is noteworthy that the Japanese delegation, under the leadership of its Speaker, visited the ongoing construction site of Tata’s Semiconductor Assembly and Test Plant at Jagiroad on the second day of their three-day visit, allowing them to witness the facility's progress firsthand.
In receiving the delegation, CM Sarma remarked that the Japanese Speaker's visit to the Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Facility, accompanied by his esteemed delegation, marks a significant and encouraging milestone in attracting Japanese investments to Assam.
Stressing the importance of establishing ongoing interactions between Japanese institutions and the Government of Assam, Sarma noted that Assam has welcomed its fourth Japanese delegation in a brief period, highlighting the strengthening bilateral relations between Assam and Japan.
