Key Transfers and Postings

Surya Pratap Yadav, who served as Superintendent of Police of Birbhum district, has been moved to the post of Joint Commissioner of Police (Admin) of Kolkata Police. Jalpaiguri SP Amarnath K. has been promoted and appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Intelligence Bureau of North Bengal.

Purulia SP Vaibhav Tiwari has been appointed Joint CP (Armed Police) of Kolkata Police, while Barasat Police District Superintendent Pushpa has been transferred to East Burdwan. Bankura SP Saumaditya Bhattacharya has been assigned charge of the Malda Special Task Force (STF).

Diamond Harbour Police District SP Ishani Pal — posted in the Lok Sabha constituency represented by Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee — has been moved to serve as DCP (South-West) of Kolkata Police. South Dinajpur SP Chinmoy Mittal and East Burdwan SP Sayak Das have also been transferred.

Hooghly Rural SP Kumar Sunny Raj has been assigned charge of Purulia, and Baruipur Police District Superintendent Shuvendra Kumar has been posted to the Wireless Branch of Kolkata Police. Bengal STF Superintendent Parijat Biswas has been moved to the Enforcement Branch.

Bengal STF DIG Sudhir Kumar Neelakantam has been given charge as Inspector General of the Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) of West Bengal Police. Kolkata Police Armed Police Joint CP Subhankar Bhattacharya has been reassigned as DIG of Traffic.

Political and Law-Enforcement Context
