Bihar TRE-4 protest: FIR against Dilip Kumar and 5,000 others in Patna
Tension gripped Patna on Friday, 9 May after police filed a case against student leader Dilip Kumar and nearly 5,000 unidentified individuals following a protest by teacher aspirants demanding the release of the TRE-4 recruitment notification and amendments to the regulations of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Four named individuals have been arrested so far, according to police.
What Triggered the Confrontation
The protest march originated at Patna College and moved toward the JP Roundabout area on Friday. As the crowd swelled, a confrontation developed between police and demonstrators, eventually resulting in chaos and an alleged baton charge. SP Central, Patna district, Diksha confirmed the arrests and stated that both police personnel and protesters sustained injuries during the incident.
