Chandigarh, March 21 (NationPress) Describing it as a well-planned scheme by AAP to insult farmers in Punjab, BJP State President Sunil Jakhar stated on Friday that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was responsible for allowing the state to suffer economically and financially for 400 days due to the ongoing sit-in protests.

“The Chief Minister is exclusively accountable for driving Punjab toward economic decline by supporting a group of self-proclaimed fake farm leaders whose primary goal was to boost their own egos, showing no regard for farmers' welfare,” Jakhar informed the media.

He challenged the government, asking, “If the Shambhu and Khanauri borders could be cleared yesterday without any noticeable protest from such farm leaders, why allow Punjab to endure suffering and lose lives and revenue for 400 days?”

“It was Bhagwant Mann who initially compelled farmers to stage a dharna when it benefited AAP during the Lok Sabha elections. Now, this same Bhagwant Mann seeks to claim credit for vacating Shambhu and Khanauri to gain votes ahead of the Ludhiana bypoll,” Jakhar remarked, emphasizing that the Chief Minister is directly accountable for the loss of valuable lives, revenue, and jobs during the blockade by inciting farmers.

“This was never a battle to protect farmers' rights but rather a display of political rivalry... their use of innocent farmers as pawns in their political games has been clear from the outset,” the leader stated, referencing the tragic passing of young Shubhkaran Singh and the ensuing events.

When questioned about the cause of farmers being evicted from the Haryana border, Jakhar attributed it to Arvind Kejriwal's desperation for Ludhiana, which has forced the state government's action, compelling the so-called farmer leaders, who have been in collusion with AAP from the beginning, to vacate Shambhu and Khanauri.

Jakhar urged voters in Ludhiana to stay alert and not fall victim to the industrial propaganda of Kejriwal.
