Are BJP MPs Dismissing Rahul's Concerns on the India-US Trade Deal as Lies?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 15 (NationPress) In light of Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi's ongoing claims regarding India receiving a “raw” deal in the India-US trade agreement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its counterattack. They accuse the Congress leader of leveraging falsehoods and rumors to propagate a “manufactured narrative” that strays far from the truth.
A few BJP MPs, addressing the media, dismissed Rahul's allegations concerning the trade deal's negative impact on Indian industries, especially the textile and cotton sectors. They reaffirmed the Modi government’s commitment to ensuring that farmers are protected and not burdened in any way.
Recently, the Congress MP from Rae Bareli criticized the trade agreement, asserting that it would significantly harm cotton farmers and textile exporters across the nation.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal, in dialogue with IANS, stated, “This is a well-orchestrated scheme by Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. While India is advancing swiftly under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, and the public consistently rejects Congress during elections, the Congress-led opposition attempts to mislead the populace on every front.”
He remarked on the trade deal, explaining that the Congress's approach is to convince farmers they are being harmed.
Khandelwal emphasized, “The Centre has made it clear that India's interests will not be compromised. However, Congress's tactic is to spread misinformation and make unfounded claims.”
“Lies now dominate Rahul Gandhi's mindset. His conduct as the opposition leader starkly contrasts with expected behavior. It has become the Congress's goal to disseminate falsehoods and create misleading political narratives.”
Another BJP MP, Yogendra Chandolia, remarked, “Rahul Gandhi should refrain from speaking until he understands the realities faced by farmers. He appears unaware of basic agricultural facts. The Congress leader seems disconnected from farmers and lacks a place in politics.”
