Jaipur, March 31 (IANS) In a sharp response to the recent comments made by former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Madan Rathore, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President, asserted on Tuesday that Gehlot must transition away from the concept of “Intezaar Shastra.”

Rathore indicated that Gehlot's political journey has reached its end, suggesting it is time for fresh leadership. He stressed that relying solely on hope is counterproductive, stating that “one withers away while waiting.”

He encouraged Gehlot to embrace the philosophy of Santosh Shastra (the art of contentment), inspired by the traditional principles of Vanaprastha and Sannyasa, and to gracefully withdraw from active political engagement.

Critiquing Gehlot's leadership, Rathore claimed that he has played a significant role in diminishing the strength of the Congress party. Wherever he has been given responsibilities, the party's standing has suffered, revealing a noticeable decline in his political clout.

Moreover, he noted that Gehlot's frequent trips to Delhi showcase a lack of independence in state decisions, with authority lying with the party's central command.

Rathore also addressed the issue of dynastic politics, pointing out that leadership within Congress has historically been concentrated in a single family—from Jawaharlal Nehru to Indira Gandhi, followed by Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and now Rahul Gandhi.

He remarked, “Such a pattern is not appropriate in a democracy.”

Highlighting that leadership roles should be determined by merit and experience, he criticized leadership based on family ties that hinder others, as it goes against democratic norms.

Regarding women's empowerment, Rathore affirmed the BJP's commitment to promoting female leadership, showcasing numerous skilled women ready to assume responsibilities.

On the topic of Govind Singh Dotasra, Rathore alleged that he has ensured administrative roles for his family members, restricting broader political engagement.

Discussing the Uniform Civil Code, Rathore stated that it is not a novel idea and has been periodically emphasized by the judiciary. He reiterated the principle of “One Nation, One Law,” especially for the protection of women’s rights.

Rathore announced that the BJP will celebrate its Foundation Day on April 6, with events organized from the Mandal level to the booth level throughout the state.

Expressing optimism about the upcoming elections in five states, he declared that the party is prepared for significant victories and further organizational strengthening.
