Jaipur, Feb 12 (NationPress) Thirty pilgrims sustained injuries when a bus flipped over on the Desuri-Charbhuja Naal Road while returning from the Maha Kumbh Mela, according to police reports on Wednesday.
The incident transpired around midnight on Tuesday due to a brake failure on the route leading to Punjab, as the passengers, hailing from Koselav in Takhatgarh, were making their way home.
Among the 30 injured, three individuals are reported to be in critical condition.
The bus was transporting 46 passengers, all from the same locality.
Following the notification, Charbhuja Police and ambulances swiftly arrived at the scene, aiding the injured and transferring them to Charbhuja Hospital for medical care.
Preeti Ratan, the officer at Charbhuja Police Station, confirmed that the bus was carrying adults, children, and the driver.
Of those injured, 18 were admitted to Charbhuja Hospital, while two were referred to a more advanced medical facility. Eight individuals with less severe injuries were released post first aid.
Included among the seriously injured is 10-year-old Om, son of Amit Kumar, who unfortunately lost his hand in the accident.
Other injured passengers comprise Ashika, Tamanna, Mathura Ben, Bhomaram, Sumersingh, Parvati, Sangeeta, Falguni, Jyoti, Rajubhai, Nilan, Prachi, Bhavesh, Pyari Devi, Daku Devi, Nimit, Jashoda, and Mooli Devi, among others.
Kumbhalgarh Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Singh and his team reached the location soon after the incident.
Local residents have voiced their anger regarding the recurrent accidents in the Desuri Naal region, especially at a curve leading to Punjab.
Recently, a school bus accident at the same site resulted in three fatalities. Residents are urging authorities to enhance road safety measures at this perilous turn, proposing an elevated road to mitigate accidents.
