New Delhi, Feb 8 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report concerning the financial dealings of the Delhi government will be introduced during the Assembly's inaugural session. He also cautioned that individuals who have misappropriated public funds will be held accountable and required to return them.
This CAG report, which details alleged financial misconduct by the Delhi government, has become a significant political issue leading up to the Assembly elections, as the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been criticized for delaying its presentation in the House.
With the Prime Minister outlining the new government's objectives, the CAG report is expected to spark further political confrontations in the coming days.
PM Modi criticized the AAP government for disappointing the public regarding the cleaning of the Yamuna river.
“They promised a new era of governance but have proven to be 'Kattar Beimaan'. The party that emerged from the fight against corruption has become a stark representation of it,” PM Modi remarked.
“While the nation battled the Covid pandemic, the AAP was busy constructing a 'sheeshmahal',” he highlighted.
The Prime Minister also affirmed that the BJP government will dedicate itself to restoring the Yamuna’s cleanliness.
Referring to 'Naari Shakti' as the BJP's greatest asset, PM Modi stated: “Today, they have once again shown their support in Delhi. We are devoted to their empowerment, and the commitments made during the elections will be honored without fail.”
Furthermore, the Prime Minister launched a fierce critique of the Congress party, mocking its poor electoral performance, which includes a series of defeats.
PM Modi asserted that Congress is imitating the strategies and campaign themes of its allies, negatively impacting their election prospects.
“Congress not only sinks on its own but also pulls its allies down. In Uttar Pradesh, it seeks the vote bank of its ally Samajwadi Party, in Tamil Nadu, it targets DMK’s voter base, and in Bihar, it claims to advocate for a caste census, a campaign theme of RJD,” he explained.
PM Modi added that the Congress is engaging in the politics of urban Naxals, with its leaders adopting their rhetoric and instigating chaos.
