New Delhi, July 11 (NationPress) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has announced the successful deportation of Kubbawala Mustafa, a significant suspect in a synthetic drug case, from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU) of CBI, in partnership with NCB-Abu Dhabi, successfully facilitated Mustafa's return to India, who had a Red Corner notice issued against him.

A four-member team from Mumbai Police traveled to Dubai, UAE, on July 7 to escort Mustafa back.

The team landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai on Friday after their journey from the UAE.

“The subject was previously geo-located in UAE through meticulous monitoring by CBI via INTERPOL and NCB-Abu Dhabi,” as stated in the CBI press release.

Mustafa is being pursued by Mumbai Police under FIR No. 67/2024, filed at Kurla Police Station, on accusations of operating a synthetic drug manufacturing facility in Sangli (Maharashtra) from overseas.

The CBI reported, “A total of 126.141 kg of Mephedrone drugs valued at INR 2.522 million was seized and confiscated from the factory associated with Kubbawala Mustafa and others.”

Mustafa has been charge-sheeted, and the court has issued a non-dated arrest warrant against him.

The CBI published the Red Notice through INTERPOL in this case on November 25, 2024, at the request of Mumbai Police.
