Chief of Indian Defence Intelligence Agency Set to Visit Greece on December 10-11

New Delhi, December 9 (NationPress) The agenda for Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency, Lt General D.S. Rana, will primarily revolve around tackling shared security challenges and bolstering mutual understanding during his official visit to Greece on December 10-11, as indicated in a statement released on Monday.
During this visit, the DG DIA is expected to engage with Greece's senior military leadership, including Deputy Chief of Defence Vice Admiral Christos Sasiakos, along with the Directors at the Hellenic National Defence General Staff.
Furthermore, Lt Gen Rana will take part in a think-tank discussion organized by the Institute of International Relations, offering a platform to interact with experts on critical defence and strategic issues. He will also meet with Rudrendra Tandon, the Ambassador of India to Greece, to deliberate on India's defence relationships.
This visit is set to include discussions aimed at the exchange of information and insights to address shared security challenges while strengthening mutual understanding. It signifies India's commitment to fostering deeper defence connections with Greece and underscores the importance of a strategic partnership in tackling contemporary security concerns.
In May, Lieutenant General Rana conducted a visit to Tanzania to reinforce the strong defence ties between the two nations and explore opportunities for regional security collaboration. During this trip, the DG DIA met with senior military leaders of Tanzania, including General Jacob John Mkunda, the Chief of Defence Staff of the Tanzania People’s Defence Force, and his counterpart Maj Gen M.N. Mkeremy, Chief of Defence Intelligence.
While at the Tanzanian National Defence College, he discussed India’s Security Perspective with upcoming leaders of the TPDF, aiming to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.
Additionally, Lt General Rana inaugurated the newly established Defence Wing at the High Commission of India in Dar Es Salaam. As a gesture of goodwill to promote military cooperation, he presented Bullet Proof Jackets manufactured in India to the TPDF.
