Pithampur, Feb 25 (NationPress) In a deeply unsettling occurrence that has raised significant alarm, a minor Class 10 student gave birth in the restroom of an exam center while taking her board examinations in Pithampur, located in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district.

This incident unfolded on Tuesday within the Sector-1 police station precincts, at a private institution designated as an examination facility for the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education.

The girl, who was in the midst of her mathematics exam, suddenly experienced extreme abdominal pain.

After obtaining the invigilator's consent, she proceeded to the restroom. To her surprise, she went into labor and delivered a baby boy.

When she failed to return after a considerable time, anxious invigilators and staff knocked on the locked bathroom door upon hearing the cries of the newborn.

The management of the examination center swiftly contacted the 108 emergency ambulance service.

Both the student and her infant were transported to the Community Health Center in Pithampur for urgent medical attention.

Medical professionals confirmed that the mother and child are both stable and in good health, currently under observation.

The girl arrived at the facility around 5 p.m. with her baby, and medical personnel reported their condition as normal.

The event incited panic among students and staff at the center. Authorities filed a zero FIR at the Pithampur police station and subsequently transferred it to the Betma police jurisdiction in Indore district, since the girl resides in Betma and was merely at the Pithampur site for her exams.

In a statement to IANS, Vijay Dabur, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) for Dhar, confirmed the occurrence and noted that she was an examinee at the center on that day.

A Zero FIR has been registered and sent to the Betma police station as she is a resident of that area within Indore's police jurisdiction.

During questioning, the victim revealed that she had been involved with a young man for the past two years.

The suspect has been identified, and police indicated they are actively working to apprehend him soon.

Legal actions will proceed under relevant laws, including measures for the protection of minors, with a comprehensive investigation into all facets of the case.
