Mumbai, March 25 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis urged the administration on Monday to prioritize the completion of various approved transmission projects to ensure a seamless power supply, considering the rising electricity demand across multiple sectors in Maharashtra. These instructions were conveyed during a review meeting he chaired regarding transmission projects.

The Chief Minister evaluated the outstanding work in several districts under Maharashtra Stats Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (MSETCL) and mandated that all pending projects be finalized without delay.

A considerable number of projects are lagging in Palghar, and he directed that these be expedited. He also proposed considering the enhancement of power infrastructure and integrating it into the TBCB (Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding) strategy under the Gati Shakti platform. Furthermore, he highlighted the need for planning to supply green power to the Navi Mumbai Data Center Hub.

The Chief Minister emphasized that all involved agencies should hasten the construction of transmission towers, free from any local political or external influences.

He instructed district police superintendents to offer police protection wherever necessary to facilitate these projects.

All agencies are to collaborate effectively to ensure the timely execution of transmission projects. “Given the increasing electricity demand in the state, it is crucial to complete these projects swiftly to maintain an adequate power supply across all sectors. All relevant departments must expedite their efforts and finalize all outstanding works without delay,” he stated.

The meeting also evaluated the advancement of power transmission lines for Babhaleshwar-Kudus, Shikrapur-Ranjangaon, Jejuri-Hinjewadi, Padgha-Wada, Kolshet-Wada, Vishwinda-Bhenda, Babhaleshwar-Rajuri-Ahilyanagar MIDC, Boisar (MIDC)-Dahanu, Padgha-Wada, Nagewadi-Bhokardan, Dahanu-Suryanagar MMRDA, Kawadas-Jawhar, Dhanora-Yawal to Chopda, and Umred-Nagbhid.

Under the Transmission Network Expansion Plan 2024-34, an investment of Rs 1,54,522 crore will be allocated, with new corridors spanning 86,656 km being developed. Abha Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department, provided a comprehensive briefing on the planning of these projects.
