Naidu remarked that Gramin Dak Sevaks play a crucial role in the country's logistics framework. He pointed out that although technology and Artificial Intelligence are advancing rapidly, the essential services provided by Dak Sevaks remain irreplaceable.
He praised the commendable logistics network of Gramin Dak Sevaks from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and noted that India’s postal network is unparalleled globally. With over 1.64 lakh post offices across the nation, about 90 percent are situated in rural regions, supported by approximately 2.7 lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks.
In Andhra Pradesh alone, more than 9,100 post offices are in operation, staffed by over 17,000 Gramin Dak Sevaks. Naidu highlighted that around 33 percent of financial assistance delivered through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) is facilitated by these Dak Sevaks, whom he considers the backbone of initiatives aimed at realizing Viksit Bharat and Swarna Andhra.
Naidu acknowledged Scindia's efforts to elevate the status of Dak Sevaks, reminiscing about his collaboration with Scindia’s father, Madhavrao Scindia. He also invited the Union Minister to visit a locality named after him in Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam.
Despite advances in technology, Naidu expressed appreciation for the human touch that Dak Sevaks bring to their work and welcomed the implementation of a dress code for them. He reiterated the request for electric bicycles to support their duties.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the state is experiencing significant growth under a dual-engine government, with welfare programs initiated over the past 20 months and rapid development underway. He spoke of good governance and the delivery of government services via WhatsApp Governance.
On social media, CM Naidu stated the government’s commitment to bolstering digital infrastructure in rural areas, ensuring broadband access for every Gram Panchayat. As part of this objective, the Andhra Pradesh Government has entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with Digital Bharat Nidhi to enhance rural digital connectivity through the Amended BharatNet Project.
