Patna, April 18 (NationPress) In preparation for the Bihar Assembly elections, the Congress party has initiated a new outreach program aimed at women, named 'Charcha Abhiyan' - 'Mahila Ki Baat, Congress Ke Sath', to enhance its rapport with female voters.

The campaign was introduced at the party's headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, featuring a poster release by key leaders such as Mahila Congress national president Alka Lamba, Bihar Pradesh Congress president Rajesh Kumar, Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Madan Mohan Jha, and MLA Pratima Das.

During the launch, Rajesh Kumar criticized the Nitish administration, stating, "While the government is proclaiming schemes for women, issues of crime and corruption persist without resolution. The Congress will now directly engage with women to understand their concerns and advocate for them."

Alka Lamba declared that the statewide initiative will kick off on April 20 across all panchayats and blocks.

"This is not merely a manifesto; it is a 'letter of justice' to the women of Bihar," she asserted.

The outreach will feature direct dialogues with grassroots female workers such as Jeevika Didis, Anganwadi workers, sahayikas, and cooks.

Lamba reaffirmed the Congress party's dedication to women's rights and dignity, vowing to increase honorariums if they gain power.

She referenced alarming incidents of violence against women, including a "gangrape" case in Varanasi, remarking that the double-engine government "lacks the necessary action and political will."

"The Mahila Congress will challenge the corrupt system and demand justice for women who have been let down by the double-engine government," she declared.

She also pointed out the Congress party's initiatives, such as the installation of sanitary vending machines in two districts in Bihar, reflecting their commitment to women's health and hygiene.

The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, has also initiated a statewide 'Mahila Samvad' program on Friday.
