Dalai Lama Remembers Manmohan Singh in His Prayers

Dharamsala, Dec 27 (NationPress) Upon hearing the news of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's passing on Thursday evening, His Holiness the Dalai Lama sent a message to his wife Gursharan Kaur expressing his condolences on Friday.
“I will remember him in my prayers,” he stated, “and offer my condolences to you and your family during this sorrowful time.”
“Throughout our meetings over the years, I have always valued his thoughtful guidance and concern. I regarded him as an elder brother.”
“Your husband was driven by a powerful desire to assist others. He played a pivotal role in advancing India’s development and prosperity, particularly in enhancing the economic landscape, thereby uplifting the Indian populace. Furthermore, he was a true friend to the Tibetan community,” he added.
His Holiness concluded his letter with, “We can take comfort in the fact that he lived a deeply meaningful life for 92 years—a source of inspiration for all of us.”
The state funeral for the former Prime Minister is set for Saturday, with his body available for public viewing at the All India Congress Committee office in Delhi beforehand.
The cremation will occur near Rajghat in the afternoon, at the site designated for the last rites of Prime Ministers.
Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at AIIMS, Delhi, on Thursday evening at the age of 92 due to age-related health issues. He experienced a sudden loss of consciousness at home before being transported to AIIMS, Delhi.
Senior Congress figures Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge led a tribute at Manmohan Singh’s residence in Delhi on Friday.
Sonia and Rahul Gandhi laid a wreath on his body, which was draped in the Tricolour, and offered their prayers.
Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other distinguished leaders visited the former Prime Minister’s home to pay their respects.
