During this session, the Economic Survey report is set to be presented in the Assembly on March 23.
On March 24, the Delhi government will unveil its Budget for the fiscal year 2026-27.
Additionally, the Delhi Cabinet has sanctioned two significant infrastructure projects: the Barapullah Phase-III Elevated Corridor and a six-lane elevated corridor with underpasses along MB Road aimed at alleviating traffic congestion and enhancing commuting efficiency across the national capital.
Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that these projects will provide relief to millions of commuters, modernizing and improving the efficiency of Delhi's road network.
She noted that these initiatives are crucial steps toward achieving a 'Viksit Delhi' and will also support the broader vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to a statement, the Delhi government has approved a revised budget of Rs 1,635.03 crore for constructing the Barapullah Phase-III elevated road over the Barapullah drain, connecting Sarai Kale Khan to Mayur Vihar.
This project serves as an extension of the existing Barapullah elevated corridor.
Upon completion, it will facilitate direct, signal-free access from Mayur Vihar in East Delhi to AIIMS in South Delhi.
As per the Chief Minister, the project is expected to significantly cut travel time for the countless commuters who travel daily between East and South Delhi.
It is also anticipated to ease congestion around Sarai Kale Khan, Ring Road, the DND Flyway, and NH-24.
The Delhi government aims to finish this project by June 30, 2026, as stated.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Gupta mentioned that the six-lane elevated road project along with underpasses on MB Road will extend from Saket G-Block to Pul Prahladpur.
The estimated cost of this project is Rs 1,471.14 crore and it will be executed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
According to the Chief Minister, the implementation of the project will occur in two phases.
