Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 26 (NationPress) The President of Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, on Thursday criticized Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi convenor Saurabh Bharadwaj for allegedly disseminating falsehoods regarding the “Green Budget” introduced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Sachdeva pointed out that Bharadwaj has, in his usual manner, contested the characterization of the 2026–27 budget of the Delhi government as a “Green Budget.”
“His objection is not only absurd but also showcases his lack of understanding in both administrative and political matters,” Sachdeva remarked, noting that Bharadwaj's comments are increasingly ludicrous as he seeks to bring attention to himself.
Sachdeva challenged Bharadwaj by stating that historical budgets in Delhi have consistently prioritized health and education. However, he accused Arvind Kejriwal of promoting his government’s education and health budgets as groundbreaking without constructing new schools or hospitals.
As the BJP government has announced a “Green Budget,” Bharadwaj appears to be resorting to juvenile opposition tactics.
The President of Delhi BJP further explained that all governments allocate budget heads for various expenditures. Following this standard procedure, the current Delhi government has included funding for road improvements through the Public Works Department and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, alongside projects like RRTS, the promotion of e-buses and electric vehicles, and initiatives such as the pink ticket scheme, all categorized under the “Green Budget” heading.
In a related statement, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor asserted that Kejriwal’s recent post on the social media platform X signifies a continuation of his longstanding political strategy.
Kapoor claimed that after 11 years in power, Kejriwal has failed to deliver tangible results, instead opting to play the victim.
“With his 11 years of administrative shortcomings and corruption coming to light, he is trying to adopt the victim narrative once more,” Kapoor stated.
The spokesperson further noted that while Kejriwal had successfully used the victim card to win elections in 2015 and 2020, the people of Delhi are now fully aware of his duplicity and will no longer be deceived.
