New Delhi, March 15 (NationPress) President of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, Devender Yadav, on Saturday criticized the BJP’s ‘double engine’ administration in the national capital for its inability to fulfill its electoral commitments of providing Rs 2,500 monthly honorarium to women and offering free cooking gas cylinders.

He also urged the BJP government in Delhi to adopt a scheme similar to that of the Congress government in Telangana, which offers Rs 25,000 crore in interest-free loans to support women entrepreneurs.

Yadav emphasized that this initiative underscores the Telangana government's commitment to establishing the state as a frontrunner in women’s empowerment, while the “double engine” BJP government in Delhi has yet to deliver on any of its promises.

He insisted that the BJP administration should allocate funds for such a scheme in the upcoming Delhi Budget.

Yadav noted that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has been convening meetings with women, traders, and farmers, but no substantial outcomes for the welfare of the populace have materialized.

The Delhi Congress leader recalled that prior to the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claimed that in their first Cabinet meeting, they would announce the Rs 2,500 monthly honorarium for every woman, free cooking gas cylinders for Holi, and a subsidized cylinder at Rs 500 for households, alongside presenting all pending 14 CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) reports in the first Assembly session to reveal the corruption of the Arvind Kejriwal Government.

However, these promises remain unfulfilled, with only two of the CAG reports being presented during the five-day Assembly session.

Yadav remarked that Congress administrations in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana have prioritized fulfilling their electoral commitments, while the BJP government in Delhi is hesitant to deliver on its promises.

The procrastination in meeting these electoral pledges indicates that the BJP is no different from the corrupt AAP Government, which has exploited taxpayers' money over 11 years of misrule after making numerous empty promises to the citizens.
