According to Sandhu, this corridor is not just a roadway—it is a catalyst for advancement that will enhance the living standards for millions throughout the National Capital Region and beyond.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor in Dehradun, labeling it a world-class infrastructure initiative that will strengthen connectivity and enhance tourism in the area.
He emphasized that his administration is diligently working to construct roads, highways, and substantial infrastructure projects. Modi also highlighted the difference in funding allocations before and after 2014 to demonstrate the significant emphasis on large-scale infrastructure development.
“During the UPA period, national spending on infrastructure projects was around Rs 2 lakh crore, whereas it has now surged to Rs 12 lakh crore. Out of this, approximately Rs 2.25 lakh crore is allocated to Uttarakhand for developing world-class infrastructure,” stated PM Modi.
