New Delhi, April 18 (NationPress) - On Saturday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the construction site of R.K. Ashram Marg Metro Station, part of the Delhi Metro Phase 4 initiative, and urged officials to ensure that the project is completed within the designated timeline.
“We are investing significantly in modern transport infrastructure, broadening networks, enhancing systems, and strengthening connectivity throughout the city. Our goal is straightforward: to facilitate quicker travel, promote cleaner transit, and provide a more efficient daily experience for every resident,” she stated.

The Metro's expansion under Phase 4 will provide a fresh impetus to Delhi's connectivity, she remarked.
“Following my inspection of the ongoing construction at R.K. Ashram Marg Metro Station, I instructed the officials to finish the work within the specified timeframe while causing minimal disruption to the public,” Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conveyed in a post on X.
She emphasized that the Metro serves as the lifeline of Delhi, with millions of passengers relying on it daily. Therefore, special attention is being given to quality, safety, and timely execution in all operations.
“I engaged in detailed discussions with DMRC officials regarding the progress, construction quality, and enhancements to passenger amenities. I have instructed officials to maintain the pace of work and ensure transparency, so that passengers do not experience any inconvenience,” she stated.
During the presentation of the Delhi Budget 2026-27 last month, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta earmarked Rs 22,236 crore (approximately 21.44% of the budget) for initiatives aimed at improving air quality and implementing green projects, including cleaning the Yamuna, to ensure a pollution-free future for subsequent generations.
Highlighting significant elements of the 'Green Budget' for 2026-27, an official noted that out of the total state budget of Rs 1,03,700 crore, Rs 22,236 crore is allocated to 17 departments with phased allocations to guarantee coordinated actions across various sectors.
The Transport Department has been allocated Rs 4,758 crore to enhance electric buses and bolster a cleaner public transportation system.
