This operation not only led to the resolution of numerous cases but also facilitated the recovery of stolen assets, as confirmed by police officials.
"An active snatcher was apprehended by the Special Staff, East District… Five snatching cases linked to PS Pandav Nagar and PS Mayur Vihar have been solved… A total of Rs 40,000 in cash was recovered… Two motorcycles utilized during the criminal activities were also seized," the East District police stated.
The suspect, identified as Bablu, was captured following a tip-off, with sustained surveillance and field intelligence playing a key role in this operation.
The mission was led by Inspector Jitendra Malik, IC/Special Staff/East, under the close watch of Sh. Pawan Kumar, ACP/Ops. The operation involved a dedicated team including HC Himanshu, HC Naresh, Ct. Rajeev, Ct. Sanoj, and Ct. Himanshu, who conducted thorough fieldwork in plain clothes in high-risk areas. Local intelligence was activated and technical surveillance was employed to track suspicious activities.
Acting on information received on a Wednesday, the team set up a trap and arrested Bablu near Noida Link Road towards Noida U-Turn, situated under Akshardham Flyover, Delhi. Upon his capture, police recovered Rs 40,000 in cash and one motorcycle associated with the crimes. A second motorcycle linked to the offenses was located nearby. The retrieved cash was connected to FIR No. 76/2026 U/S 304(2) BNS, PS Mayur Vihar.

Further questioning of the suspect is ongoing to determine his involvement in other criminal activities and to secure additional recoveries.
Bablu, aged 40, hails from Madangiri and is reportedly illiterate. His previous criminal records include FIR No. 30/2007, U/S 399/402 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS Malviya Nagar, and FIR No. 12/2014, U/S 379 IPC, PS C.R. Park.
This arrest has resulted in the successful resolution of five snatching cases.
