Bengaluru, May 8 (NationPress) Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) Rajya Sabha member H.D. Deve Gowda shared his commendation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership in light of Operation Sindoor.
“The recent weeks have undoubtedly been challenging and taxing, yet I am grateful that divine support has granted you the strength and determination to guide India through these tough times. Your leadership has been remarkable, and history will certainly remember it fondly,” expressed the former Prime Minister in a heartfelt letter to PM Modi.
Gowda characterized the government's response as “mature and restrained,” highlighting PM Modi's swift return from Saudi Arabia and his choice to cancel his upcoming visit to Europe as a testament to his sense of responsibility and awareness of the ongoing crisis.
“I write to you with profound gratitude, following India's composed and thoughtful military reply to the Pahalgam terrorist incident. Your resolute actions since the outset have not gone unnoticed,” the former Prime Minister remarked.
“By shortening your stay in Saudi Arabia and hastily returning to oversee the evolving situation in India, engage in strategic discussions, rally international backing, and motivate our armed forces, you have shown true leadership. Furthermore, you prioritized remaining in India by cancelling your European trip to address any emergencies that may arise,” Gowda articulated.
The seasoned politician also recognized the significant strain and weight of decision-making during a national emergency.
He pointed out that PM Modi's spiritual foundation and calm reasoning were clear in his management of the situation, stating, “I understand that leadership can be isolating… You have proven to possess the necessary qualities in abundance.”
As India continues to confront threats from neighboring regions, the 93-year-old Deve Gowda echoed the principles of dharma, invoking divine guidance for both the Prime Minister and the nation.
“We endure challenges together, yet we also rise united as a single nation and community. I pray that divine support accompanies you, and our great country as we combat the forces of Adharma in this war against terrorism. India is a nation of peace, consistently spreading positive energy globally, but if others perceive it as a vulnerability, they are now aware of our true potential,” he stated.
He acknowledged that while the nation faces ongoing challenges, the collective unity of its people is a source of immense hope.
This letter follows an all-party meeting convened by the central government to update political leaders about the achievements of Operation Sindoor.
