Kolkata, March 24 (NationPress) The Calcutta High Court issued a directive on Monday for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to provide a detailed report regarding the rape and murder of a junior doctor from R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital. The father of the victim expressed gratitude for the court's involvement.

"The judge has instructed the CBI to ascertain the number of individuals involved and to take necessary actions. They are required to present the case diary in court this Friday. We have faith in the judicial system and believe that justice will be served," stated the father.

The parents approached the court out of concern over the sluggish investigation and alleged attempts to protect the guilty parties.

The father criticized the state government's inconsistent approach, commenting, "At times they claim there are no objections, while at other times they raise issues. We are perplexed by their stance. What investigations were conducted in the initial five days? Do they even possess the authority to question the probe?"

The victim’s mother also voiced her discontent regarding the investigation, alleging her daughter faced mistreatment at the hospital for rejecting counterfeit medications, injections, and saline.

“The CBI has yet to carry out a thorough investigation. From the outset, we asserted that Sanjay Roy was not the sole perpetrator in my daughter’s murder. Her colleagues, VP, Sandeep Ghosh, and others are implicated in this institutional homicide,” she claimed.

She further accused the Mamata Banerjee government of hindering the inquiry since August 9, despite her daughter being a government employee who passed away while on duty.

"The Health Minister and the Chief Minister were tasked with identifying the involved parties. However, there have been efforts to conceal the matter from the very beginning. We will not relent. There may be delays, but justice will be achieved," she asserted.

The Supreme Court, which is currently reviewing the case, recently allowed concurrent hearings at the Calcutta High Court, leading the victim’s parents to file a new petition questioning the CBI’s progress.
