Four Arrested in Punjab Linked to Canada-Based Terrorist Arsh Dalla

Chandigarh, Dec 16 (NationPress) The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab Police, in a coordinated operation with Mohali Police, successfully detained four individuals linked to the Canada-based terrorist Arsh Dalla and another foreign handler. The operation resulted in the recovery of three .32 calibre pistols and 16 cartridges, as reported by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Monday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Gagandeep Singh and Navjot Singh, both hailing from Amloh in Fatehgarh Sahib, Lakhwinder Singh from Bhadson in Patiala, and Vipanpreet Singh from Faridkot.

In addition to the firearms and ammunition, the police also seized their white Swift car, which they were using at the time of the arrest.

DGP Yadav stated that the suspects admitted to shooting at a car accessories showroom in Phase 11, Mohali, during the night of December 1 and 2. Their intention was to intimidate the shop owner and extort money as directed by their foreign handler, Daljit Singh, also known as Ninda.

Daljit Singh is a repeat offender who has escaped to the US using a passport with false information and is linked to a radicalized gangster based in the US.

The DGP noted that this module was connected to radical elements under Arsh Dalla and was plotting further criminal activities in Punjab under his direction.

All four individuals have substantial criminal backgrounds, with multiple cases filed against them, and ongoing investigations aim to uncover additional members of this network.

Additional Director General of Police (AGTF), Promod Ban, mentioned that following the shooting incident at the car accessories showroom, specialized teams of the AGTF were formed, led by AIG Gurmeet Chauhan and AIG Sandeep Goel, in collaboration with Senior Superintendent of Police (Mohali) Deepak Pareek.

The teams gathered vital evidence, including CCTV footage and technical data from the crime scene, which facilitated the identification of the suspects, including the two individuals who fired the shots.

In a prompt action, the teams tracked down the suspects while they were in transit in their vehicle and apprehended them in Mohali, recovering the weapons utilized in the incident.
