New Delhi, Jan 23 (NationPress) Over 1.21 lakh devotees have benefited from complimentary consultations and medications provided by OPDs and clinics established by the Ministry of Ayush at the ongoing Mahakumbh mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

The Ayush OPDs, clinics, stalls, and sessions have become significant attractions for devotees, pilgrims, and visitors at the Mahakumbh. These healthcare services, offered in partnership with the National Ayush Mission, cater to both domestic and international attendees.

According to the Ministry, “With over 1.21 lakh devotees benefiting from these facilities, the response has been remarkably positive for the Ayush team at Mahakumbh.”

The Ayush team at Maha Kumbh consists of 80 doctors across 20 OPDs, providing round-the-clock medical services. These OPDs are equipped to handle a diverse array of common and chronic health issues. Additionally, daily therapeutic yoga sessions are being held from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at designated camps in the Sangam area and Sector-8, led by trainers from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY).

Not only Indian devotees, but also foreign visitors are taking advantage of the Ayush services, including OPD consultations, as noted by the Ministry. These initiatives aim to educate devotees about the latest advancements in Ayush medicinal systems, along with information regarding medicinal plants.

Furthermore, the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) showcased a creative exhibit of medicinal plants and stationed experts to provide details about these plants, including their common benefits. Devotees were also informed about the potential financial gains from cultivating these plants, with free saplings being distributed. To improve the health of the elderly, the Ayush team has arranged for the free distribution of medications, including immunity boosters and calcium tablets.

“As many as 45 percent of the beneficiaries thus far are from the elderly demographic,” stated the Ministry.

Sharing his experience, Raghunandan Prasad, a devotee from Sultanpur suffering from a skin condition, remarked, “After receiving medication from the Ayush camp, my condition has shown significant improvement. I am grateful to the government and Ayush for their efforts.”
