New Delhi, Feb 10 (NationPress) With extensive healthcare provisions, over seven lakh pilgrims are receiving Ayush and allopathic medicines at the ongoing Mahakumbh 2025, as reported by the Ayush Ministry on Monday.
The healthcare services are being delivered by specialists from Canada, Germany, Russia, along with doctors from AIIMS Delhi and IMS BHU.
Dr. Gaurav Dubey, the nodal medical officer of the Kumbh Mela, stated, "Over 4.5 lakh pilgrims have been treated at 23 allopathic hospitals, and more than 3.71 lakh pilgrims have undergone pathology tests."
Moreover, the event has witnessed over 3,800 minor surgeries and 12 major surgeries, Dubey added.
Importantly, more than 2.18 lakh pilgrims have availed treatments under Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Naturopathy at Mahakumbh 2025.
The Ministry has announced that around 20 AYUSH hospitals (10 Ayurveda and 10 Homeopathy) are operating round the clock in the Kumbh Mela area.
These hospitals are treating patients using traditional methods such as Panchakarma, herbal-based treatments, yoga therapy, and naturopathy.
The Ayush Ministry is also distributing yoga kits, calendars, medicinal plants, and health awareness materials to promote a healthier lifestyle among the pilgrims.
Additionally, a special Ayurvedic ‘swarnaprashan’ medicine is being administered to children aged 1 to 12 years.
"This special Ayurvedic ‘Swarnaprashan’ medicine is being distributed during Pushya Nakshatra. It is beneficial for enhancing children’s concentration, intelligence, immunity, and physical development," the Ministry noted.
By integrating Allopathy and Ayush medicine, Mahakumbh 2025 aims to be not just a spiritual gathering but also a model event for health and well-being.
The health services provided to pilgrims have garnered appreciation both domestically and internationally, elevating the global recognition of the Indian medical system.
The grand event is set to continue until February 26 in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj.
