Gandhinagar, April 13 (NationPress) Gujarat's Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, fiercely criticized Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, accusing them of disseminating false information about the Gujarat Class X board examination results, branding both leaders as “fake” and “fraudulent”.
The uproar began when both opposition figures slammed the Gujarat government on the social media platform ‘X’, referencing media reports that supposedly indicated shockingly low pass rates in the state's government schools.
However, social media users quickly highlighted that the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has not yet released the Class X results for the current academic year, which are anticipated in May.
In response to the claims made by the opposition leaders, Gujarat Minister Harsh Sanghavi tweeted: “I have never encountered such fake and fraudulent leaders. The Gujarat Board results haven’t been published yet, but Mr. Akhilesh Yadav and his colleague, Arvind Kejriwal, are sharing false results on social media. This is a calculated effort to mislead the public and distort perceptions. These leaders should not involve innocent children in their dirty politics.”
Meanwhile, Gujarat's Minister of State for Education, Praful Pansheriya, supported Sanghavi's sentiments and called for action against Akhilesh Yadav and Arvind Kejriwal.
“The public - especially students, parents, and teachers - must remain alert against such fake news and depend solely on official announcements,” Pansheriya stated.
He further emphasized that the citizens of Gujarat and across India have consistently repudiated such deceitful practices, which is why these types of leaders are being eliminated by well-informed voters.
“There is a vile attempt by anti-social and ineffective leaders to mislead students by posting false board results on social media. Do not entangle children in your political maneuvers. Do not gamble with their future.”
Previously, Akhilesh Yadav’s post included what seemed to be a 2023 news headline: “Gujarat board results: Zero students passed Class 10 in 157 schools. The Gujarat model has failed… Not a single student passed the 10th board exam in 157 schools in Gujarat. We will oust the BJP and safeguard the future.”
Arvind Kejriwal amplified the assertion, stating: “This is the Gujarat model. This is the BJP model, which they intend to impose on the entire nation. This is the double-engine model. They aspire to keep the country uneducated. Name one state governed by the BJP that hasn’t ruined education. Under this model, they are now attempting to dismantle the education system in Delhi.”
Meanwhile, Gujarat Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi defended Yadav and Kejriwal, asserting that their posts highlighted a deeper and persistent issue within Gujarat’s education system under BJP governance.
“During the BJP’s 30-year rule, Gujarat’s education sector has continually declined,” Doshi claimed.
“The student-teacher ratio is alarming. Government schools are experiencing a decrease in both teachers and classrooms. The education department has become the nucleus of corruption,” he remarked.
The Congress leader concluded that a school without a teacher and a village without a school aptly symbolizes the current education model under the Gujarat BJP government.
