Gandhinagar, April 11 (NationPress) In a significant announcement, Gujarat has emerged as the sole state in India to execute 19 distinctive policies tailored for various industries, as stated by State BJP president and MLA Jagdish Vishwakarma during the inauguration of the ‘Shri Vishwakarma Business Expo 2026’ in Gandhinagar.
While addressing the attendees, Vishwakarma emphasized, “Gujarat stands out as the only state where 19 diverse policies for various industries are actively being implemented.”
He highlighted that such support from policies has played a pivotal role in enhancing the state’s industrial growth and fostering an innovation ecosystem.
The BJP leader acknowledged the contributions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in realizing ambitious projects like the semiconductor mission within the state.
“Thanks to the initiatives of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, a once-unimaginable goal such as the semiconductor mission is now becoming a reality in Gujarat,” he stated.
The event kicked off with Vishwakarma leading chants of “Jai Vishwakarma” and praising the youth team for their efforts in organizing the expo.
He remarked on the global recognition of the Vishwakarma community for their traditional skills and technology.
“The Vishwakarma community is renowned worldwide for its skill and intellectual capabilities in traditional craftsmanship and technology,” he affirmed.
On noting the Prime Minister’s vision, he mentioned that September 17, celebrated as Vishwakarma Puja across the nation, coincides with the Prime Minister’s birthday.
He reflected on the tradition linked to the establishment of the Howrah Bridge, which has become a symbol of reverence for labor and craftsmanship.
Moreover, he underscored the potential of the Vishwakarma community, which includes a vast pool of engineers.
“The government is committed to supporting research initiatives and the formation of research centers within the engineering domain,” he asserted.
The BJP leader urged for the promotion of traditional skills alongside contemporary technology, proposing that the expo could serve as a means to compile a repository of older technologies to maintain their relevance.
Highlighting the shifts in the economic landscape, Vishwakarma remarked: “At the time of Independence, India’s economy was primarily centered around agriculture and engineering, but has diversified into various sectors, encompassing industrial, rural, medical, digital, tourism, spiritual, blue, green, and orange economies.”
He appealed to exhibitors and visitors to foster an open exchange of ideas to help broaden the platform for future events.
