The Mayor and Municipal Commissioner visited the secondary garbage collection sites situated at Beriwala Bagh, Jharsa, Carterpuri, and Khandsa.

They assessed the garbage management situation and instructed the officials to clear all collection points within the next two days. The officials are required to ensure that the waste is collected from these points and transported to the garbage disposal facility located at Bandhwari.

Furthermore, they emphasized the need for heightened cleanliness on main roads, in markets, at garbage-prone locations, and public areas.

"The cleanliness of the city is the top priority of the corporation administration. The involvement of every citizen is crucial in maintaining a clean environment. We urged residents to dispose of waste only at designated spots, minimize plastic usage, and segregate wet and dry waste," stated Mayor Rajrani Malhotra.

Last week, in a significant enforcement action against 33 vehicle owners and drivers, the MCG filed 29 FIRs and levied fines for littering and dumping waste in public spaces.

He also reported a recent raid on a large plastic manufacturing facility, where 7,300 kg of banned plastic was seized, resulting in a fine of Rs 7 lakh.
