Gurugram, March 30 (NationPress) In a bid to enhance the waste management system in Gurugram, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) is preparing to appoint a new agency for door-to-door garbage collection, according to officials.

It is important to highlight that the absence of effective door-to-door garbage collection has led to significant piles of waste on streets, indicating a serious issue.

In light of this, the corporation has devised a strategy to outsource the door-to-door garbage collection responsibilities to a new agency.

Officials have mentioned that in June, applications will be invited from private entities for a contract, with preparations for new cleanliness tenders already in motion by the MCG. The current agency's permit will lapse in June.

Sources within the MCG have shared plans to consolidate the garbage collection and disposal tasks under a single agency. This initiative will see the agency managing these responsibilities for a period of seven years.

The corporation previously terminated the contract with the garbage collection agency, Ecogreen Company, and appointed Vimalraj Agency for door-to-door garbage collection in the city last year.

Currently, numerous locations in both old and new Gurugram are facing garbage accumulation issues, including Bus Stand Road, Sanjay Gram Road, Sheetal Mata Road, Sarai Village, New Colony, Sector-5, 31, 40, 55, 44, Vishnu Garden, Palam Vihar, Dharm Colony, Bhim Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, and several others.

"The tender allocation process is underway to enhance the garbage collection system. The existing agency will continue operations until June. A new agency will soon be appointed," stated MCG Commissioner Ashok Kumar.
