Guwahati, February 27 (NationPress) The Crime Branch of Guwahati has conducted an extensive interrogation of renowned YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani regarding remarks he made during the 'India's Got Latent' episode, an official confirmed on Thursday.

The questioning extended for several hours after Chanchlani reported to the Crime Branch office.

He faced inquiries about multiple allegations before being released later in the evening.

“Today, the well-known YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani complied with our questioning at the Crime Branch. We will contact him if further information is needed, but as of now, no additional summons have been issued. Other individuals involved in the case have yet to respond to police notices and will be summoned shortly,” stated Ankur Jain, Joint Police Commissioner of Guwahati.

On February 21, the Supreme Court directed the governments of Maharashtra and Assam to respond to Chanchlani's plea to dismiss or transfer a formal complaint regarding the show's alleged inappropriate comments to Mumbai.

Chanchlani was implicated in an FIR filed in Assam after controversial remarks made by fellow YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia during the program hosted by comedian Samay Raina.

Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, faced numerous formal complaints due to his statements about parents and sex in the episode, which drew significant backlash.

Chanchlani has sought to have the FIR at the Guwahati Crime Branch dismissed. He requested the transfer of the Guwahati FIR to Mumbai, arguing that the FIR in Maharashtra was filed first. The Gauhati High Court granted him temporary relief on February 18 while considering his anticipatory bail application, instructing him to appear before the investigating officer within ten days. Chanchlani's legal counsel insisted that he did not make any statements during the show and that the FIR's allegations pertained only to the co-accused.

On February 10, the Guwahati Police lodged a formal complaint based on several laws including the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhtia, Information Technology Act, Cinematograph Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
