Jan Suraaj Party Leader Accuses Ruling and Opposition Figures of Distracting from BPSC Protests

Patna, Jan 4 (NationPress) In light of the ongoing protests by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), the situation has escalated as political opponents in the state criticize Jan Suraaj Party Chief Prashant Kishor for using a luxurious vanity van at the protest location in Gandhi Maidan, Patna. In response, Vivek Kumar, the spokesperson for the Jan Suraaj Party, came to Kishor's defense, accusing opposition leaders of shifting focus away from the genuine issues confronting the protesting students.
Kumar clarified that the vanity van at the protest site is utilized as a washroom facility for the BPSC candidates currently on hunger strike.
He dismissed the criticism regarding the van as petty politics aimed at detracting from the primary concerns of the students, which include alleged question paper leaks.
"The leaders from both the ruling coalition and the opposition, including Tejashwi Yadav, Nitish Kumar, and BJP figures, have neglected the grievances of the students. I challenge these leaders to spend a night at Gandhi Maidan in the harsh cold to show solidarity with the protesting candidates," the Jan Suraaj Party spokesperson stated.
He underscored that Prashant Kishor's constant presence at the protest site, under the watchful eyes of the media, demonstrates his dedication to the students' cause.
Kumar argued that opposition leaders are more focused on political theatrics than on addressing the issues faced by the distressed candidates.
He also hinted at the potential electoral implications of the BPSC protests, noting, "The repercussions of the government's management of the situation will resonate in the Bihar Assembly elections, set to occur in nine months."
The hunger strike led by Prashant Kishor, which addresses alleged irregularities and calls for transparency in the BPSC examination, has now entered its third day.
Meanwhile, the spotlight on his use of a vanity van has intensified political tensions, with leaders from JD(U) and BJP issuing sharp criticisms.
Neeraj Kumar, JD(U) Spokesperson and MLC, accused Kishor of hypocrisy, pointing to the luxury vanity van, reportedly valued at crores, as proof.
"Prashant Kishor criticizes the government without recognizing success stories, like Upkar Kumar, the child of an Anganwadi worker, who topped the 69th BPSC exam and became a Deputy Superintendent of Police," he added.
"Kishor is undermining the talent and accomplishments of Bihar's youth and evading questions about the vanity van," the JD(U) MLC remarked.
BJP Spokesperson Arvind Kumar Singh highlighted the alleged cost of the vanity van, claiming it is rented for Rs 25 lakh and questioning its funding sources.
