Political Rivals Criticize Prashant Kishor for Vanity Van Usage at Patna Protest

Patna, Jan 4 (NationPress) The ongoing protest concerning the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has taken a significant turn, with political opponents in the state criticizing the Jan Suraaj Party Chief Prashant Kishor for utilizing a lavish vanity van at the protest grounds located in Gandhi Maidan, Patna.

In response to the barrage of criticism from political rivals, Vivek Kumar, spokesperson for the Jan Suraaj Party, came to Kishor's defense, claiming that the opposition is merely trying to distract from the critical issues confronting students.

Kumar stated that the vanity van present at the location is serving as a restroom facility for the BPSC candidates who are currently on a hunger strike.

He dismissed the criticisms directed at the van as a manifestation of petty politics aimed at overshadowing the primary concerns of the protesting students, which include allegations of question paper leaks.

"The leaders from both the ruling coalition and the opposition, such as Tejashwi Yadav, Nitish Kumar, and BJP officials, have neglected to address the grievances of the students. I challenge these leaders to spend a night at Gandhi Maidan amidst the harsh cold to showcase their support for the candidates on strike," said Kumar.

He underscored that Prashant Kishor's constant presence at the protest site, under the full gaze of the media, illustrates his dedication to the students' cause.

Kumar further pointed out that the opposition leaders seem more focused on political theatrics rather than genuinely resolving the issues faced by the distressed candidates.

He also hinted at the potential electoral repercussions of the BPSC protest, stating, "The ramifications of the government's approach to this situation will be apparent in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, which are set for nine months from now."

The hunger strike led by Prashant Kishor regarding alleged irregularities and calls for transparency in the BPSC examination has now entered its third day.

As these events unfold, the emphasis on his usage of a vanity van has heightened political tensions, with leaders from JD(U) and the BJP issuing pointed criticisms.

Neeraj Kumar, JD(U) spokesperson and MLC, accused Kishor of hypocrisy, highlighting the luxury vanity van, reportedly valued in crores, as evidence.

"Prashant Kishor is criticizing the government without recognizing success stories like Upkar Kumar, the son of an Anganwadi worker who excelled in the 69th BPSC exam and became a Deputy Superintendent of Police," he added.

"Kishor is undermining the talent and accomplishments of Bihar's youth and is evading questions regarding the vanity van's usage," remarked the JD(U) MLC.

BJP spokesperson Arvind Kumar Singh emphasized the alleged rental cost of the vanity van, claiming it is rented for Rs 25 lakh and questioning the funding sources.
