Jammu, January 2 (NationPress) - In a significant development, police in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir announced the attachment of 10 kanals and 15 marlas of land linked to seven individuals currently residing illegally in Pakistan.

According to a police statement, this action was executed following directives from the Special Court in Jammu. The Kathua Police acted on attachment warrants against these seven accused individuals from Tehsil Lohai Malhar who are involved in FIR No. 21/2024, charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and the Enemy Infiltration and Movement Control Ordinance (EIMCO) Act at the Malhar Police Station.

The police confirmed that proclamations had been issued for all seven absconders, who have failed to respond to repeated notices.

The properties attached include those of: Mohd Ayaz alias Adeel Ansari (one kanal), Abdul Kareem alias Bitta (12 marlas), Sarfraz Nawaz alias Nawaz Ahmad (one kanal and 10 marlas), Mohd Farooq alias Farooq Ahmed (one kanal and five marlas), Mohd Hafeez (two kanals), Gul Mohd (15 marlas), and Akhtar Ali alias Niku (three kanals and 13 marlas).

With cooperation from the Revenue Department and after fulfilling legal requirements, the properties of these accused Jammu and Kashmir nationals were identified and attached under Sections 84 and 85 of the BNSS.

The total value of the attached immovable properties is estimated at several crores of rupees.

This operation was spearheaded by SHO Police Station Malhar PSI Arun Shan, under the guidance of SP Operations Upper Kathua Amir Iqbal and DySP PC Malhar Sunil Kumar, with overall supervision by SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, IPS.

“This decisive action underscores the commitment of the Kathua Police to combat unlawful and anti-national activities,” the statement emphasized, adding that the identification and attachment of properties belonging to such offenders will persist in accordance with legal processes.
