Bengaluru, Jan 15 (NationPress) The Karnataka Congress government announced on Wednesday that law enforcement will thoroughly investigate the potential involvement of additional individuals in the shocking case of cow udder mutilation in Bengaluru.

Speaking to reporters, Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated, “The police have apprehended one suspect related to this case. Legal proceedings are underway against him. Should the investigation indicate the possible involvement of others, the police will pursue it as requested by the opposition. Should further individuals be found to be complicit in this crime, or if it is revealed that the accused was coerced into committing the act, the investigation will uncover all pertinent details,” he assured.

When addressing allegations from BJP leaders regarding Congress members' involvement, he remarked, “I cannot respond to the unfounded claims made by BJP leaders. Which Congress members are purported to have supported this act? If I were to claim that the BJP backs this act, would it be appropriate? If politics are infused into every issue, the public will be paying attention.”

In a related incident, a calf was discovered in Hubballi on Wednesday with its stomach slashed open. The seven-month-old calf, owned by Sharanappa Barakeri, was found in the Banagari Layout area, under the jurisdiction of the Ashok Nagar Police Station. According to veterinarians, the nature of the injuries implies that the calf may have been attacked by another animal. However, the timing of this incident following the udder mutilation case has heightened tensions in the area.

The BJP organized a protest in Bengaluru on Wednesday, denouncing the mutilation of the three cows.

Karnataka Police arrested one individual on Monday, which escalated communal tensions within the city.

The BJP and the cow owner criticized the Karnataka government for its handling of the situation, claiming there is foul play involved.

The disturbing incident occurred in the Chamarajpet area of Bengaluru early on January 12, leading to unrest in this sensitive community.

An FIR has been lodged under the Cruelty to Animals Act and Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act.

Sheikh Nasru, a 30-year-old from Champaran District in Bihar, was taken into custody, with police asserting that he committed this heinous act while under the influence of alcohol.

BJP leader and former IPS officer Bhaskar Rao claimed that the recent incidents of cow slaughter in the city are part of a larger conspiracy aimed at displacing Hindus from the area to seize their land.
