Bengaluru, Jan 20 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has asserted that the recent attacks on cows orchestrated by extremist groups are deliberately aimed at inciting and hurting Hindu sentiments across the state.
Opposition Leader R. Ashoka emphasized on Monday that the state government must address this matter with utmost seriousness and put an end to these atrocious acts without delay, or face a significant statewide protest.
Ashoka further remarked, “Just as the outrage over the shocking act of mutilating the udders of three cows during a festival in Chamarajpet was settling, another dreadful incident has emerged.”
“In Salakoda village of Honnavar taluk, Karwar district, miscreants have committed cruelty by slaughtering a pregnant cow, extracting its calf from its womb, discarding it, and stealing the meat.”
“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the recurring attacks on cows indicate a larger conspiracy. It appears to be a significant jihadi plot involving extremist and fundamentalist elements,” Ashoka stressed.
The incident involving the mutilation of the udders of three cows had already sparked communal unrest in Bengaluru.
Although the police apprehended one individual linked to this incident, the BJP accused the government of foul play and organized a protest.
Following the udder mutilation, another incident surfaced in Nanjangud town, Mysuru district, where miscreants cut a cow’s tail and inflicted injuries on its back.
The latest occurrence in Karwar district involved a pregnant cow that had ventured out to graze.
Addressing the organization of centenary celebrations for Mahatma Gandhi's tenure as AICC President in Belagavi, Ashoka questioned, “Does upholding Gandhi's values entail misappropriating funds from the Valmiki Development Corporation meant for the underprivileged? Or does it involve seizing Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites designated for the homeless?”
“Does embracing Gandhi's tenets mean using the freedoms he fought for to endorse anti-national slogans like ‘Pakistan Zindabad’? Or remaining silent while a sacred cow is slaughtered?” Ashoka criticized.
