Bengaluru, Jan 14 (NationPress) A BJP delegation led by the party's Karnataka President B.Y. Vijayendra and the Leader of Opposition (LoP) R. Ashoka visited the owner of three cows whose udders were brutally slashed by an individual in Chamarajpet recently, along with inspecting the crime scene.

Following the arrest of a suspect for this gruesome act, the BJP has declared plans for statewide protests regarding this incident.

The party asserts that it is implausible for a single individual to execute such a crime and is demanding a comprehensive inquiry into this shocking event.

In light of the upcoming Makara Sankranti festival, the team also participated in a ‘Gau Puja’ (cow worship).

The BJP state team visited the cow owner's residence near the Dundumariamma Temple within the jurisdiction of the Cottonpet police station, offering emotional and moral support.

The delegation consisted of BJP MP P.C. Mohan, MLC N. Ravikumar, Bengaluru Central District President Saptagiri Gowda, former IPS officer and BJP leader Bhaskar Rao, along with other prominent party members and local leaders.

Opposition leader R. Ashoka stated that such incidents will not intimidate the Hindu community.

In a statement to reporters, he mentioned, "I have witnessed the distress of the cows after their udders were mutilated and their blood shed in Chamarajpet. This is not the action of an isolated individual; numerous individuals must be involved in this crime. The police need to conduct a thorough investigation.”

“This atrocity occurred during a critical period with the Sankranti festival and the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj also taking place,” he added.

Furthermore, Ashoka alleged that Congress workers exerted pressure on the cow owner, Karna, to transfer ownership of the cows to them.

The BJP has pledged Rs 1 lakh as compensation to the cow owner.

"Hindus will not submit easily. The Congress party exhibits hypocrisy. They offered to present three new cows to the owner while their own members are involved in slaughtering them. I now harbor doubts regarding both the police and the government," he asserted.

“The accused was discovered with a blade in his possession, and the police have claimed he is mentally unstable. How could a mentally unstable person work at a factory for a decade? How did he arrive at the scene at 3-4 a.m.?” Ashoka questioned.

“They couldn’t directly assault cow owner Karna, so they targeted his cows as a warning. Yet, CM Siddaramaiah has remained silent on this issue. Had it involved Muslims, he would have responded immediately. However, we will not succumb to this vote-bank politics. This is a religious battle, and the BJP will mobilize statewide against cow slaughter and assaults on Hindus,” he expressed.

Ashoka lamented the inadequate investigation, likening it to a previous case where MLC C.T. Ravi was arrested and confined in a sugarcane field. "In this instance, the accused was presented directly to the court without being taken into police custody for a proper investigation. This has hindered the inquiry," he criticized.

He also called upon CM Siddaramaiah to ensure justice for the cows, which are vital for milk production, stating, "Do not betray Gau mata."

In comments made to the media, Vijayendra emphasized, “Hindus across the state and the nation are shocked by this incident. Such a tragedy has never occurred in Karnataka's history. India is a nation where we revere the cow, considering it sacred, and this incident has reverberated throughout the country.”

The BJP delegation also visited the cow owner's home, with BJP MP P.C. Mohan donating a cow to assist the family, according to Vijayendra.
