Kolkata, March 4 (NationPress) - On the occasion of Dol Yatra, Kolkata Police apprehended 330 individuals for indecent conduct and intoxication, as reported by police officials on Wednesday.

Joint Police Commissioner and officers of DC rank have been stationed on the streets, with around 400 police pickets established at strategic points. Special pickets with 6 police officers are located at 86 key sites, while an additional three officers are stationed at 312 other locations.
On Holi, a comprehensive radio flying squad is patrolling the thoroughfares, accompanied by 62 PCR vans and a rapid response team to ensure public safety.
Patrols on police bikes are also monitoring the extensive road networks in each police jurisdiction. The police have emphasized preventing individuals from bathing in the Hooghly River or other water bodies while under the influence of alcohol.
Since Tuesday, enhanced police security has been established at 66 ghats and various water bodies in Kolkata, with at least 24 personnel assigned by the Disaster Management Groups of the Kolkata Police.
The city police headquarters is actively ensuring that every police station is prepared to respond swiftly to any disturbances reported.
In cases of complaints related to molestation while playing with colors, police stations have been instructed to take immediate legal action. Concurrently, efforts are underway to locate illegal liquor.
