Is KTR Unafraid of Conspiracies to Frame Him in False Cases?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Jan 23 (NationPress) K.T. Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), asserted on Friday that he remains unperturbed by alleged conspiracies aimed at framing him in false cases, particularly involving telephone tapping.
He accused the ruling Congress party of attempting to link him to numerous issues, including a drug scandal and purported associations with actresses.
“They have subjected not only me but also my family and my children to significant mental distress,” KTR stated to reporters prior to his appearance before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the phone-tapping claims.
Emphasizing his two-decade commitment to state service, he claimed that BRS successfully achieved the formation of Telangana by overcoming numerous plots devised by the former united Andhra Pradesh government and various political figures. He noted that the Congress party's conspiracies against BRS are hardly a new phenomenon.
The former minister clarified that he has never engaged in trivial political tactics, nor has he implicated opponents, their families, or harassed them with false accusations.
The BRS highlighted that Telangana has experienced remarkable development over the past decade under its governance.
KTR lamented the overall decline observed during the last two years under Congress leadership, which has caused him deep emotional distress.
“The failure of systems across all sectors, from the agricultural crisis, the suicides of farmers and weavers, to student hardships and unemployment protests, all of this deeply pains me,” he expressed.
He alleged that for the last five or six years, the Congress party has conducted a relentless smear campaign against him.
KTR mentioned he was called in for questioning regarding the telephone tapping issue, and he intends to pose questions to the SIT officials as well.
“Is there any credible evidence supporting the leaks that have been circulated like a daily soap for the past two years, tarnishing my reputation? I question why they propagate misinformation without a single piece of official evidence, relying solely on media leaks,” he stated.
“I challenge anyone, including police officers, to assert that telephone tapping is not occurring in this state. Will DGP Shivadhar Reddy come forward to deny it? Will Sajjanar or the Intelligence IG step up?” he queried.
KTR reiterated that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is orchestrating this telephone tapping ‘drama’ merely to distract from the Singareni coal scam that the BRS has unveiled.
“A scam worth thousands of crores in coal mining has occurred, centered around his brother-in-law. The Central government has yet to respond to this. We will resist fearlessly and stand tall as true sons of Telangana,” he proclaimed.
He vowed to continue challenging the ‘failures’ of the Congress party and the ‘corruption’ associated with Revanth Reddy.
“Even if they attempt diversion tactics, our focus will remain unwavering, akin to Arjuna's gaze, on Revanth Reddy's corruption and the fulfillment of promises made by the Congress party,” he concluded.
