KTR Accuses Congress of Systematic Corruption in Telangana
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, April 12 (NationPress) K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), asserted on Sunday that the Congress-led government in Telangana has entrenched corruption through a scheme he labeled as a "loot-and-hide strategy" that pervades the state.
Speaking to party members at the BRS office in Mancherial district, following a ceremony to honor elected officials from Kyathanpalli municipality, KTR claimed that corruption was rampant among Congress leaders, from Ministers to MLAs, affecting every Assembly constituency and initiative.
KTR accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of overseeing what he referred to as "unprecedented corruption levels," suggesting that no Chief Minister in India has engaged in such extensive financial misconduct.
He further alleged that both the Congress party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were colluding to protect each other from corruption allegations.
The BRS leader pointed out that despite serious allegations involving Singareni Collieries and central government initiatives, there have been no inquiries initiated.
KTR referenced previous comments made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding alleged "RR tax" collections and Union Home Minister Amit Shah's characterization of the Telangana Congress as an "ATM," questioning the lack of formal investigations following those remarks.
He claimed that significant irregularities were occurring within the Singareni Collieries Company Limited, alleging that thousands of crores were implicated in what he described as a substantial scam.
Moreover, he suggested that individuals associated with the Chief Minister's family were manipulating contract distributions and criticized the central government for its "silence" despite holding a 49 percent stake in the company.
KTR warned that the BRS would escalate its protests if the issues faced by workers in Singareni were ignored. "If corruption persists and workers' grievances are neglected, we will initiate protests across every coal mine," he stated.
The BRS leader also accused the Congress of undermining democratic principles in Kyathanpalli municipality, alleging that police force and intimidation were employed despite their electoral defeat.
Reaffirming his party's dedication to workers and grassroots democracy, KTR urged the public to "reject the corrupt regime" and support the BRS in upcoming local and Singareni elections.
He expressed optimism that the BRS would reclaim political influence in Mancherial district and throughout Telangana in the next electoral cycle.
